Tesla (NASDAQ:) CEO Elon Musk took to Twitter on Tuesday to encourage his followers to check out a new product called the Cyberwhistle. The Cybertruck inspired, limited-edition stainless-steel whistle was available for purchase on the Tesla website using (a cryptocurrency currently popular with Musk and his followers).
For 1,000 Dogecoin (or around $50) you could have one of the limited-edition whistles delivered to your front door. According to the site, the whistles will begin shipping in 4-6 weeks. However, if you go to the website now, you’ll find that the futuristic looking whistle is already sold out.
We don’t know how big the original batch of whistles was, but according to reports the whistle sold out quickly following Musk’s tweet. Some reports say the whistle was sold out in minutes. Currently Tesla’s website has the product listed as “Out of Stock.”
However, Musk expanded on his original tweet, saying that the company is currently working on making the whistle louder. Whether the multi-billionaire was joking or not, it stands to reason that the company might jump on the popularity of the whistle and eventually make more available for sale.
